Irondragon Forge ClayWorks Posted June 20, 2017 Share Posted June 20, 2017 I've never used an Emerson anvil. It would depend on how sharp the edges are if you need to radius them or not. As far as protecting it from rust, bees wax will work or transmission fluid or any number of rust preventives. Here is an old thread about the Emerson. Frosty Posted June 20, 2017 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Emerson are the anvils on Forged In Fire. Not that that's a recommendation but you can watch them in action every Tuesday evening. Paste furniture or floor wax is a good treatment for anvils, especially after you've warmed it up with a day's forging. Frosty The Lucky. I like to put some radius on some edges, but sometimes you need that sharp edge, so maybe just barely take it off so it doesn't chip as bad if you miss. As far as treating it, never have.
