zak54
Hi guys, Just got started building a forge from a 20 lb propane cylinder, the plan that I'm following I found on line. I have two questions... 1. Most of the propane cylinder forge designs I've seen show the burner entering the cylinder at an angle....is this necessary, or can the burner enter from the top and point straight down? 2. With 2" of kaowool throughout as insulation and sealed with ITC 100 would one burner be sufficient for a forge this size? I'm thinking the chamber to be heated will be approx. 8" x 8" in size? Thanks for any advice you may have.u
Mikey98118
Gas Burners for Forges, Furnaces, & Kilns has an entire chapter showing you how to build a forge from a five gallon propane cylinder, including how and why to position your burner. You can find a pirated copy online for no money.
