If you lived in the UK you could have my 250lb mousehole for $400. Depends whether the area you live in is rich in anvils or not; probably better to hear the opinion of someone closer to your area. If the face is in excellent shape with no signs of damage, repair or grinding/milling then in your location it is OK. If it's worn/damaged/repaired I'd pass on it unless you are desperate for an anvil. Without pictures it's rather like asking us if a used 2 door ford car is a good buy at $4000---could you make a judgement on just that?
