A picture with something in it for scale, or a very detailed description of the item. What (or who) are you trying to brand? How many times does it have to make an impression? Wroughton Posted March 25, 2017 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Other than the obvious problem of making sure you're contacting wood with your iron, temperature is the biggest concern. Red hot brands tend to get volatile gasses excited and create quite a show, but not a lot of detail. Black hot brands smoke a little and produce detailed branding.
