magikk
Hi again I thought I'd post up some pics of Knife 2 & 3. They where both forged from car coil spring quenched in oil and tempered on a hot brick on my forge.Which I know now from my last post, wasn't the proper way of doing things. Thanks Thomas Powers for that info. I ordered Steve Sells book last night an "Introduction to knife making" so hopefully I can avoid some future mistakes. The handle on the Dirk is maple and tongue oil.I wasn't happy with the color of the stain but it was an improvement over Knife number one. The pommel and bolster where cast on the handle using pewter. Knife number three has a hickory handle that I charred with a torch and used some linseed oil to seal it. I also cast the bolster on this one too. So please critique my work. So I can become better at this .Thanks Mike
C-1ToolSteel
That is one of the best second knives I've seen.
