RobertThoreson
Hello all. I'm Rob as you have noticed. Always wanted to do a little metal work and lately I've been spending every spare minute on YouTube trying to learn everything. I have alot of hobbys; engine building, auto restoration, fishing, 4x4 and this seems to fit right in. I have alot of reading to do so I'll get to it. And if there's anyone local that could use a free hand around your shop, I'm here
JHCC
Welcome, Rob; good to have you! By all means, read everything! And if you learn well from videos, we have a page that's a collection of blacksmithing links on YouTube from people that folks here have found to be more informative (and safer!) than some of the inaccurate and irresponsible stuff that's all too common online. Check it out -- I personally recommend the videos from Mark Aspery, Alec Steele, Torbjörn Åhman, TechnicusJoe/Joey van der Steeg, Rowan Taylor, and ABANA, but almost all of them are worth watching.
