Because this is something that some one will ware dont want any thing that will feel to oily or slimy or leave something on the skin. Steve Sells Posted February 2, 2008 Share Posted February 2, 2008 Stainless like 304 and D2 for starting, later move to 400 series and 300 series, then more esoretic for a hypoalergenic pattern welded material's should suit your needs. cwilliams Posted February 11, 2008 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Definately have silver on the skin side, I would coat the damascus with several coats of a good high grade auto wax. Since I started to coat my carbon steel knives with car wax they dont rust on me like they used to. Not sure how long it would last in a jewelry scenario though.
