I am a new Blacksmith I have a little experience after football season I am going to a friends who is a blacksmith and I will become his apprentice any tips of where I can get tools and a forge thanks

Go to your blacksmith friends and "Make" your own tools and forge at his place with his guidance. Can 't get any easier than that.

Welcome aboard duckkiller dude glad to have you. If you'll put your general location in the header you might be surprised how many of the Iforge gang live within visiting distance.

Is your friend actually accepting apprentices or are you going to get instruction, there's a world of difference.

As an apprentice you'll work probably 10hr. days for him for a room, a meal a day and occasional instruction. The work will be anything needing doing from sweeping floors, stacking materials, cleaning the barn, pens, weeding and harvesting the garden or fields, etc. After a while he'll start assigning you work in the shop which will progress as your skills do till you reach journeyman level when he'll send you journeying down the road to establish your own shop hopefully far enough away you won't be serious competition.

Sound more like a friend's going to show you the craft, maybe on a: by the lesson basis, on call help or for beers and snacks? These are the terms under which I usually teach.
