Joel OF
When finishing interior household items that will be handled from time to time or possibly brushed past with light coloured clothing, what's your method for determining that it's clean/dry enough to not mark/stain skin or fabrics and is ready go to the client? Frosty
When the clear coat is dry. 2 part epoxy lasts a long time and is tough enough to stand up to wear reasonably well compared to most other finishes. Frosty The Lucky.
Joel OF
Do you put a clear coat over another finish?

IN the situation you describe where people are going to be brushing into it or handling it all the time you bet I do. for normal indoor pieces I finish with Trewax, a carnuba paste wax that's hard as nails and lasts a long time. Just remember NO finish is permanent, iron and steel WANT to be rust and WILL be, given time. Frosty The Lucky.
tzonoqua
test with a white cloth. If it marks, it's not ready to go out the door!! clear coat over a wax coat I wouldn't recommend.
