ThomasPowers Posted January 8, 2016 Share Posted January 8, 2016 I consider Vulcans on the lower end of the real anvil spectrum---but they are still on it and will have horn, heel and hardy to play with! The plus is that they are a quiet anvil. Especially good if you will be working in a closed up building! Minus is the face thickness is pretty thin and sometimes a bit soft. NEVER grind on a Vulcan Face! They have also had quality issues at times---I have one where the horn broke off displaying casting voids you could stick a pencil in. However our warm hearted (cold nosed) brethren up in AK have a dearth of anvils so having one is a great start! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
