As a general statement:  When you ask people to help you; you should make it as easy for them as possible.  Playing 20 questions is not in either person's best interest.  If someone had to pay US$1 per character for each question needed to provide a good answer how might they reword their original question?  What research might they do on their own?  Will the craft of smithing suffer by selecting for folks that think through things?
