Nobody Special Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Got tired of rivets becoming scarcer and scarcer around here, so made a rivet set. Forget about it at the box stores, and even the industrial supplies have to order 'em half the time. New Edge style header, cupping tool, snap set. Some new ball punches to make same. Quote
Charlotte Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Excellent. Something I should have done years ago. Very Nice and very efficient. Quote
jwilson645 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) Nice work Ben. Now.....how about you demo the rivet making process for us noobs that aren't sure what they are looking at? Edited September 9, 2015 by jwilson645 Quote
Nobody Special Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) Upset end of rod a little in the vise, stick in header (one w the holes.) Upset more, put snap set (round one with the divot.) on top, then round the head.Cut to length, put it in whatever work you're making, the finished one sets in cupping tool so it doesn't get flattened (long bar w divots). Upset the unfinished end slightly and round with snap set.You don't get to watch until I get better...Also, swapping out my poor busted vise. Edited September 9, 2015 by Nobody Special Quote
