I found this amongst my "stuff" I can't remember/think of its use and/or where it belongs, any help?

To help with changing steel conveyor belts.  Like on a corn elivator.  it holds the links.

Saw one painted red and with a few more fingers.

Thanks for the replies  guys, yes it now rings the bell:) bit of a hollow sound though , used to have a conveyor on a maize hammer crusher back in the days when we had a pig farm.

Breaker for detachable chain...barely used these days.  Used to be that every farm had one of those or several.  Often you can find them branded with things like John Deere because they came as part of the tool kit on the farm equipment.  Many also had several slots for different sizes of chain.

Detachable chain is this style:

I just bought two of these from an Amish man and he told me they were called chain breakers
