Frank Turley
In New Mexico, these hollowed out logs were used as feed troughs. The Spanish word is "canoa" as in English "canoe." My helper, Taylor, turned this one into a planter by making the two stands. I had already made the fat baskets for another job, and they were not used, so recycled to this job. The rest was forged and mig welded. He welded a plate underneath and lag screwed the assembly to the log bottom. Ready for soil and planting. Height including the log is 24".
