March 17, 201511 yr I had plans this morning to make a door knocker or two and scribbled some ideas in my pad and set off to the workshop. On the way I remembered the horseshoe I annoyingly snapped in half whilst making a heart and decided to re-purpose it. Using another shoe and half of the broken one I made this door knocker, completely different to anything I had planned before I set off.
March 17, 201511 yr Nice use for broken horse shoes, I'll bet they'd sell pretty well too. I think something a little nicer for the hinge pin would improve the overall knocker. How's it sound?Frosty The Lucky.
March 17, 201511 yr Author sounds OK, you'd know someone was at the door and, yes, someone has already shown interest in buying it. If I make another I will give a bit of thought to a nicer pin.
March 17, 201511 yr Nice job!I found this pic while surfing the net for ideas, and I always liked the way they split the end of the spike to make the knocker hinge.It would also work nicely with your idea! (Credit to whoever's pic this is)
