Its on again, Ironfest at Lithgow, dates are 18th to the 19th of April 2015 gates open at 9am till 5pm Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday.  Ironfest is held in Lithgow NSW Australia.  Lithgow is about 3.5 hours west of Sydney NSW Australia.  Ironfest is held in Lithgow showground.  All blacksmiths that call themselves blacksmiths should attend, and even if you dont call yourself a blacksmith come anyway.  Theres also jousting, gun battles, stalls, food, horses, falconry, weaponmaking.  The theme of Ironfest this year is Gypsy Dreadnought.

If you need info you can contact Ironfest direct via their facebook page or their website, or any questions that I can be helpfull with you can contact me.  The Artist Blacksmiths Assoc NSW will also be attending as far as I know.

Having just read all that above, I really stress, that you dont have to be a blacksmith to attend Ironfest, we welcome anyone with an interest in blacksmithing.

Its getting closer, a really fun weekend for the blacksmith and the whole family, if you're not interested in the smithing there is a stack of other stuff to keep you amused.

Ironfest is coming to Lithgow next weekend, (not this weekend coming) the weekend after this weekend coming,(just making that clear, had some confused people ring me), so that makes it next weekend Ok guys.  We will be arriving Friday afternoon with the Massey 1cwt, fun for all.

These are about all I took.  The major difference this year was performance by the group of armoured ex-army vehicles; small tank, White half-track(s), Ferret Scout cars, Saladin/Saracen a.p.c. and others.  Did an impressive pyrotechnics battle against the Axis crew and their large machine gun/ cannon thingy.  Things bangin' and blowing up all over!  Do searches on youtube, starting with 'Ironfest 2015'- stuff is up already.

Then there was the glorius blacksmith crew, it was a fun weekend- thanks guys.  Monster- the smoked pork was devine (smoked on site).  

The weather was amazingly mild for Lithgow... then the floods hit Sydney...

Ironfest for 2016 done and dusted.  Next year should be even bigger.  Its getting billed to be the biggest blacksmith gathering in the Southern Hemisphere.

Had to go anyang this year, the massey is now bolted to the floor at monsters place.
