February 10, 201511 yr Author It seemed to be just a blob on the horn. If it was a real weld it certainly fixed what ever was there. The horn has seen a fair amount of abuse though. I'll get pics up shortly. Andy
February 13, 201511 yr Author I couldn't access the forum for a while there. Anyway the anvil is a little beauty. I did some forging knit yesterday and it was a real joy. I'd really love to get a big fisher as my main shop anvil. Anyone want to ship a 300lb fisher to me? As you can see the horn has taken a beating but it doesn't seem to be cracked. All the best Andy
February 13, 201511 yr Have fun with the Fisher. They are a great anvil without the ring. The horn is slightly scarred, but with proper use, it will not crack or break. It make one wonder what was struck on the horn to make those gouges?
February 13, 201511 yr Author It's certainly. Got a lotifhistory behind it. I won't be selling it any time soon that's for sure. I really noticed how quickly the horn warmed up when I started working on it. Andy
February 15, 201511 yr If I found 2 300# Fishers, I'd send you one (you pay shipping grin)! Helped my son make something on his 80# Fisher today, I don't use the little thing often so I forget how good they are. Enjoy yours!
