Fascinating, I must admit there is a place for wood.   

Amazing joiner descriptions. I'm challenged by square end framing, the guys doing that work were skilled beyond belief. Thanks for sharing the find.

All that joinery could easily be applied to "iron" and steel. If someone is looking for a good alternative to welded joints, there's plenty on material here to give them ideas.

 

 

I've always been partial to many of the highly detailed wood joinery that was used in some  the craftsman style homes and buildings.
