Jacob Nothstine
Have a Buffalo Forge #152 Post Drill with I think the original drill chuck. Picked up a Jacobs chuck at a garage sale and was going to install it on the drill press. The problem I'm having is getting the old drill chuck shaft out. I took out the set screw, now the shaft just spins freely, so I don't think its a morse taper or threaded almost feels like a bearing is around it. With the drill press being cast I don't want to hammer on it. How do you remove the shaft.
Jim Coke
Greetings Jac, Feed some WD in through the set screw hole than take a wood block put in on the chuck and give her a smack with your hammer Done it many times Forge on and make beautiful things Jim
