April 18, 201412 yr Every smith is different, and i want to know your favorite material for knife or sword handles. Personally, I love cocobolo and ironwood. I have noticed cocobolo seems to be big, but have also heard that aspen can be cool. What do you like to do? side note, how do you affix them? pins, glue etc. cant wait for your responses! April 18, 201412 yr I prefer sambar stag, fossil ivory, stabilized died wood burls from any kind of a burl with great pattern, fossil walrus ivory. fossil sea cow bone. Fossil mastodon ivory. Mexican ironwood burls. African blackwood, Oosic, staiblized muskox horn. fresh water coral. And,,anything else that I find that gives me wot I want on a knife.

April 18, 201412 yr This question has been answered in the knife section, knife chat classes with a vendors list included. Anything from old blue jeans to ivory can be used. The choice is up to you the knife maker to achieve the look and feel you want on your knife.
