Hope this is the right place for this.

 

Can anyone help me out, I found this forge in Boulder city, Nevada being used as a planter for the last thirty years.

I have rebuilt most of it but would like to find out the model and year if possible.

any help would be great,

Champion Number 1, from about 1888 until 1910, give or take. Would have had a sheet metal half hood, and a water tank. Both items rarely survive intact.

 

This forge does not have the cut outs on the sides is it still a number 1 ? I found this on the internet a number 83 . I am going to build a hood for it if I can get some better pics I am going to try to keep it as close to original as I can

There are a small number of smiths in the valley, so it is nice to see another one on here. There is another thread for Smiths in Las Vegas that you may want to check out, and possibly meet up with some of us.

Try searching for Las Vegas in general blacksmithing. If I was at a desktop I could link it, but the tablet makes it a bit tougher to do sometimes.
