Overactor
Had to drive a few hours to get it from a leather smith on a local gun forum that frequent. He had a few anvils and swage blocks and after searching for a decent anvil for so long I was relieved when I asked the price, expecting like the other anvils Ive found in the area the price to be blown sky high he gave me a great price. He said he would rather it be used than some of these collectors to buy it and flip it. He had a few yater swage blocks that he bought in the 70's that will be going to a working blacksmith in asheville. Now to find a forge or make one and start using her. If you happen to be in NC and have a small hand crank blower and or a forge please let me know. As far as I can tell its a North or Northern Star Made in Sweden and 92lbs. Sweet ring Heres a few photos. Any info or history that anyone would know would be very welcome!
VaughnT
Very nice anvil. Too bad you couldn't get those swage blocks as they are just about the perfect design for a hobby smith.
