I Forge Iron

Picked up my new to me 1st Anvil

Recommended Posts

Had to drive a few hours to get it from a leather smith on a local gun forum that frequent. He had a few anvils and swage blocks and after searching for a decent anvil for so long I was relieved when I asked the price, expecting like the other anvils Ive found in the area the price to be blown sky high he gave me a great price. He said he would rather it be used than some of these collectors to buy it and flip it. He had a few yater swage blocks that he bought in the 70's  that will be going to a working blacksmith in asheville. Now to find a forge or make one and start using her. If you happen to be in NC and have a small hand crank blower and or a forge please let me know.

As far as I can tell its a North or Northern Star Made in Sweden and 92lbs.  Sweet ring

Heres a few photos. Any info or history that anyone would know would be very welcome!
