Metalsmith21
Has anyone ever made a trophy set of tools made out of Damascus steel just to hang on a wall to look nice?
Geoff Keyes
Sure, and I make jewelry out the scraps. I've seen small boxes, hinges, pulls, buckles, even a sculpture of a turtle about the size of a large wok. Anything you can make out of steel, you can make out of Damascus. What did you have in mind? Admanfrd
I would love to make a damascus hammer. (no folding, just weld, cut, stack, weld, repeat) I would use it too :D
Steve Sells
Sure look in the gallery to see a few. I keep the 2# hammer for laughs at demo's and faires.
rockstar.esq
If and when I develop the skill to make damascus, I'd love to make unusual trophy tools like linesmans pliers, spokeshaves, and so forth. I was talking about it at a block party and a carpenter from down the street said he'd love a carpentry hammer made of damascus steel. Rich Hale
I call all my billets pattern welded...as opposed to damascus which I do not know how to make. And I do pattern each and everyone of them.
reitenger
I would love to do some woodworking tools out of Damascus when I get to that point in life.
