primtechsmith
Here are a few pictures of yesteryearforge's BIG Refflinghaus anvil. It tips the scales at a little over 1240 pounds of cast tool steel. It is 18 inches tall, a little over 4ft long...and the face is almost 9 inches wide. primtechsmith
On the left is Dick Nietfeld. The Refflinghaus Rep for the United States, and also the guy who runs Shady Grove Blacksmith Shop. In the middle is "Mother" the 1240+ pound giant. On the right is Mike Tanner AKA: yesteryearforge The meeting was great. Dick made a hammer, tongs, shovel blank, and a few smaller items. There several pictures in the gallery "August Meeting" over at Blacksmith Guild of Viriginia - Home if anyone is interested. I will try to get a few on over here as well. My dial up is so slow I need to shave again after sending an email! LOL!!! Dick is one of the nicest and most down to earth smiths I have ever met. His knowledge and opinions of the trade will stay with me for years to come...Please visit his site, if you haven't already, to learn more about the Refflinghaus anvils and other tidbits on Shady Grove Blacksmith Shop Peyton
