Frank Turley
I think that bottle openers may be fun to forge, but may soon become nigh obsolete because of all the twist off caps in use. My wife recently purchased a "Five Way Opener" whose main feature is a tin can leverage lifter/remover, the sort of tin can lid that has the periphery scored and has the lift tab on top. I'm not promoting any brand names, but hers was a Zyliss, which is depicted on Amazon. I haven't tried to make one yet, but it appears to be doable. Dan C
I've sold many of my openers at work, though one friend hasn't bought one as he has one of these on his key chain. The part that opens twist offs is tapered btw in order to open different sized caps. I also sell my spike openers to painters as one style works also well for opening and hammering shut paint cans. Seems the site or my network is having trouble uploading pictures right now. I try sending them later.

Dale M.
Hmm.... Was just considering a design for opening larger twist off caps, like found on Gatoraid and apple and other fruit juice bottles.... Anybody got a idea? Dale
