TONGS! They aren't perfect, a little ugly, but I'm really happy with them for a first project. Advice and critique appreciated! Thanks all!

I think they look ok bud.
Looks to me like the bit doesn't close flat together? Best put the stock size you want to hold in there and flatten them out so they hold better.

Nice.  I just finished my fourth set of tongs and they don't look that good.  Well done.

Uh . . .  I'm afraid you're going to have to point out the ugly parts of those tongs JC. A little tweeking on the jaws and they're a fine serviceable set of tongs. By the way, we're blacksmiths, we don't do perfect.

 

Well, okay we do but we have out own definition of perfect.

 

For a first project though, these are standout terrific.
