Chris Covington
I have a store room just off my garage that is about 6x8. We are planning on building a workbench for my belt sander this weekend and the location choices are between the storage room and the carport itself. My question is this...is it safe to operate a belt sander in small room like thator should i build the workbench in the garage and just raise the garage door. ? ( the door from the store room into the garage will be open. ) I will of course be wearing a face shield. Thanks
Justin Carnecchia
First I would say that regardless of were you build it you need to be wearing a good quality respirator. That said grinders make a lot of dust, personally I would go with the garage. Another option, although I don't have personal experience with them would be a vacuum system. Expensive though. Rich Hale
I installed a vaccum system for all my dirty air making things.....I no longer get black buggers,,,,, :) When it is over a hundred f in shop a filtered mask is not fun...... ironwolfforgeca
one idea is to install beltsander on a large truck drum so you can roll it outside ?? mine is set up this way to move around shop as needed
