You might be able to fix it up a little more and cover the screw some so it does not get to gritty. Also the jaws look a little bent. Do they close straight? If not I can help you fix it some. No need to get picky about having the original screw, box, spring, mount etc. If it loosens, tightens, and holds whatever you want to hold, then you have everything you need in a vise, enjoy it! The first reason I would say its not original is because it looks spot on to be a house jack screw. Secondly the screw is much longer than the vise can realistically open. The screw has a unneeded chunk off the front. The general shape of the vice more than likely makes it English. Out of the many English vices, and pretty much any other nations vices none of them used an exposed screw. With an exposed screw you run a much greater risk of the screw being struck with a hammer or damaged during shop use. Also an exposed screw will collect lots of grit and scale from normal use.
