ThomasPowers
Nice travel anvil, now polish that face off by hitting hot steel on it!
Probablyforged
Haha. You recognized that right off. I believe it weighs 103 lbs. Is that still considered a travel anvil? I paid $150.00 for it. Did I get a good deal?
ddwilson
looks like you got a good deal to me, I picked up a 127 lbs Peter Wright on Sat and paid just under 2 /lbs and thought I got a good deal. Looks like you are set now enjoy.
ThomasPowers
Around 100 pounds is pretty much the peak for travel anvils---for me I try for something between 90# and 125#: heavy enough to be useful, light enough to be able to carry it---back straight lift with the legs! And yes that was a quite nice price for one in most places in the USA and very cheap in some of the others! I paid $150 for a 112# PW last year here in NM and was thought to have gotten a great deal. Probablyforged
That's good news for me. As I don't know much about blacksmithing or the tools of the trade. I am learning as I go here in E Texas.
ThomasPowers
Fastest way to go is to hook up with a local blacksmithing group and attend meetings and conferences!
Probablyforged
Haven't thought of that. I'll check to see how far one is away from me and consider it. Thanks.
