murfcabbage
Nice, I like working with 0-1. I use oil to harden it and then stick it in my wife's toaster oven, 3 times at an hour at 450 degrees F to temper. Seems to work well. Needless to say, I temper the blades when she is at work. metal99
Almost looks like you have some rust on the blade now? If you want to patina a blade with citrus fruit you can't leave it in for to long. As soon as it some out wash it with a little baking soda water and then a light oil. I have had good luck with mustard lightly dabbed onto the blade. Let it sit for about ten minutes and wash thoroughly. The less mustard you have the darker the etch. It seems like it won't etch untill it dries a bit.
Robert Yates
as per the Chat try soda to clean it and polish it to a high luster this will help however with high carbon steel it will need to be cleaned often just as the "Old Hickory" brand knives , a good patina on the blade has never hurt a good blade.
