July 9, 201213 yr A sale bill for an upcoming auction advertises a "large Peter Wright #15 anvil". Any ideas about weight and how much it might be worth in good to very good condition? Thanks in advance!

July 16, 201213 yr I don't believe that PW ever had a "numbering system" at least none of the half dozen I have owned or the several hundred I have seen were numbered. I would wonder if that wasn't a typo for 150 pounds and would still wonder if they translated the CWT numbers correctly.
July 21, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the photos and input. Without anything for reference besides the 55 gallon plastic drum for a base, I'd guess 150-180# maybe? My father-in-law has a 187# anvil that looks a bit bigger, but, without reference, it's hard telling.
July 23, 201213 yr The better question is... Did you go to the auction and if so what did it sell for? I would've guessed it was a typo and it was 150lbs.
