Iron Cross
A sale bill for an upcoming auction advertises a "large Peter Wright #15 anvil". Any ideas about weight and how much it might be worth in good to very good condition? Thanks in advance!
Daniel S
Did you see this photo?http://www.auctionzip.com/Full-Image/1468792/fp83.cgi This page shows all of the items for sale.http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/photopanel.cgi?listingid=1468792&category=0&zip=&kwd=
ThomasPowers
I don't believe that PW ever had a "numbering system" at least none of the half dozen I have owned or the several hundred I have seen were numbered. I would wonder if that wasn't a typo for 150 pounds and would still wonder if they translated the CWT numbers correctly.
Iron Cross
Thanks for the photos and input. Without anything for reference besides the 55 gallon plastic drum for a base, I'd guess 150-180# maybe? My father-in-law has a 187# anvil that looks a bit bigger, but, without reference, it's hard telling.
Jeff Lodge
The better question is... Did you go to the auction and if so what did it sell for? I would've guessed it was a typo and it was 150lbs.
