macbruce
lovely macbruce - your work is so varied!! how did you make the little spiral pieces? The spiral is just a piece of 5/32'' welding rod (at right) rolled tightly up and struck into a ''biscuit''. In this case it's a 3/4'' x 1 1/2'' upset piece of alu bronze. The upset makes for nice round sides. Doming them in a swage works well too. The amonite is pushed flat on the front side and welded on the back then ground flat for striking/pressing. I've made them from threaded rod, rebar,sq stock (on the diamond) These make nice drawer pulls or rosettes for scroll ends etc..............
