I Forge Iron

Rose Candle Holder

Recommended Posts

Beautiful! Nice lines and life to it. Great texture. For some reason I'm always drawn to edges. I'd take a file or belt sander to the leaf edges to round them off slightly and then re-forge them. I think a soft edge is more natural than a hard edge.
Can't wait to see what you do with the next one.

Thank you all for the nice comments. It means a great deal.

Curly - A BP? I've never done one. Hmmm.... maybe. It seems simple enough to do though.

Randy - Thanks for the tip. I agree. After looking at them, softer edges on the leaves would be better.

Beth - The rose is like any other. I just cut the stem real short and used the leaves underneath as legs. I then
tack welded the leaf stems to the stub left over from the stem. For the center, I clamped a 1" steel coupling
to it and formed the first set of pedals around it, creating the round center.

Seldom - Thank you very much.
