Countryforge Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Has anyone seen or worked on an Albani federhammer. Here or in Europe. Quote
dablacksmith Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 looks like a nice guided helve hammer... is it missing the anvil?or is it just not pictured...if the price is right ide pick it up! Quote
macbruce Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Yeah, go for it if the price is right, even if there is no anvil. Making an anvil isn't that hard. Quote
Dan P. Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Those can be picked up easily, often very cheaply, in Europe. I, personally, would be cautious. Making an anvil isn't that hard, if you have the means to do so. If you don't, it may be very difficult indeed, or at least expensive. For what it's worth, what I've seen of those hammers (limited to youtube videos, I'm ashamed to admit), they look pretty dowdy. -Dan Quote
ptree Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Heck, if you can make the anvil, just make the whole thing! I did. Quote
