forging satisfaction

Featured Replies

Had a most satisfying and enjoyable forging session this weekend when my daughter (21) asked if we could go out to the barn and hit some hot metal together. It was not the most productive session by a long shot, in terms of objects forged, but she kept looking up with a big grin and saying "this is fun! this is really fun!" Well, it was fun for me too. :D

Have her cold forge some no lead plumbing solder into swords for her dolls or stuffed animals!

That's great to hear. My kids are too busy with "important" things to spend a little time trying to do a little smithing. I do have a young grandson that is starting to show a little interest, though. :)

That is wonderful, there is nothing quite like spending time doing blacksmithing with the family's next generation.

My youngest daughter (23) is quite content coming out to the forge in the morning, sitting down with a cup of coffee and talking. Quality time!
