Joseph Tinsley
i made these for a friend of mine who is into doing stuff "old school" like i am. they are going to be used to make a medieval style comb for one of his friends birthdays. not exactly sure what these tools would have been called but they are used to scrape out the teeth on said comb. questions, comment, and helpful critisism welcome. Tom Allyn
That's awesome! More power to you - and your friend. A very thoughtful gift you're planning. What sort of material will the comb be made of? How hard are the edges of your scrapers?
ThomasPowers
Combs were usually bone or antler
Joseph Tinsley
Tom- He told me he was gonna use wood. The edges for the scrapers are hard enugh that a file barely cuts into them after i tempered them. Is this too hard? Thomas- I was thinking the same thing. He told me wood, but i will pass on those thoughts to him.
