Arbalist
When folks talk about burner sizes is this the inside or outside diameter of the tube? I'm planning on making my own and have various sizes of thick walled steel tube to choose from. This site has some nice designs and I reckon I need the one inch burner but where are we measuring the "one inch"! http://www.hybridburners.com/products.html Vic. Steve Shimanek
generally pipe sizes reference the inside diameter.
sfDuck
As to the thickness of the pipe,3/4 black pipe is approximatly 1/8 inch thick, and the larger the fitting the thicker the wall is. The only change would be how hot the tube gets; the thicker it is the longer it would take to heat up! As long as you keep yer tail feathers away (Don't lean on it) or cover it with a can of panty waste. Have fun.
Arbalist
Thanks guys, I kinda thought that was the case but it doesn't hurt to make sure! Vic.
