trying-it Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Many members of IFI know I had major heart surgery March 1, 2011; but I am on the mend and it is hard to keep me down. Lately I have been finishing the gasser units and burners I started to build B4 the surgery and now I have the refractory liners in and all units have been test fired and linings cured. The linings are "wool" covered with castable silicon carbide (same material as crucibles are made from and highly resistant to flux). Picture of the operating 2-burner and actual gauge settings show just how low of PSI can be used without any burner problems. [Note: The designs used for the burner builds are from Garey Ford's BP on the topic. The gasser's themselves are also a variation based on Garey's BP] Attached pictures should show and prove that "it did happen" here LOL :P Quote
