ok I don't know what happened there it came out as a file?

and its very small. melted marble? as in the stone marble? did it keep its marbled appearance?

It is a .bmp If it is saved as a .jpg it will display properly.

Neat looking, can you do a photo series on how it gets there?

It is a cats eye marble,,glass. I just set the marble in it the way i wanted it to go and layed it carefuly in the forge and slowly heated it up till it started to melt, then took it out and let it cool slowley,,,did it last night so i thought the green marble was appropriate for st. patty's day :D

Open the file in an image editor, save as, under file type change it to *.jpg or JPEG then save.

Since I can't see it (but I know it's cool) I will have to try one this weekend.

Glad you got your head wrapped around the cross. I haven't tried the marble yet. Tomorrow.

thanks mark,,I appreciate it. It is actually alotta fun ta make!

Well, like I said yesterday, I tried the marble in the cross today. I love to post my accomplishments and show others what great work I can do (because they are rare) but this isn't one of those posts.
I used a smaller cross than the RR spike cross and left it in the fire too long. The marble melted big time and ran out the other side, looked bad. Good thing I used an old cross to practice with. Maybe tomorrow I'll try it on a larger cross and pay more attention to whats going on. Too many irons in the fire. Trial and error, practice makes perfect, if at first you......... well you get my drift.

I was suprised at how quick the glass started to turn molten,,,I had the fire at my lowest blower setting.

Me too. I have a hand crank blower and went real slow. Like you said, it melted a lot quicker than I thought it would. Oh well. Another day, another marble.
