Nathan Hall
What all types of Hardy tools do you guys have that you just couldnt go with out?And does anyone have any special made ones that they are really pleased with?
ironstein
A hot cut first and foremost. Next would be a hardy block to use for smaller items, or crisp edges. I also have a swage that i use to hold round stock so i can butcher or punch. A fuller is handy as well.
ThomasPowers
Hot cut; Swing arm fuller---knives, working pipe, etc; concave bottom swage---making rasptlesnakes; small dish and plannishing stake for spoons As my anvil has large hardy holes (1.5") I have started buying messed up top tools and forging the eyes to fit the hardies to make them into bottom tools---there's a lot of them out there where I sure wouldn't want to hit the tops with a hammer in use; but make fine bottom tools.
