Steve Sells Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Not stating the brand makes it harder to answer. Quote
CurlyGeorge Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Yeah, I answered one earlier with two answers, depending if it was a Trenton or Hay-Budden. By the pictures, I'm guessing Trenton. they had similar serial numbering systems but fit way different years. :D Quote

newguy Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 Not stating the brand makes it harder to answer. Anvil is painted, going to remove the paint to find other markings. Quote

Thomas Dean Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Steve and George, I agree, hard to date without knowing for sure the maker...but I went withhis statement that the weight is on the left of the horn and the SN is on the right. Now if it's a HB, well then the year it was born would be 1912. only about 16yrs difference! what's 16yrs to an anvil, right? Quote
CurlyGeorge Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Thomas, you're right. I read right over that and didn't catch it. Trenton #s are under the horn on the "Right" side of the base and Hay-Budden on the left. Thanks for pointing that out. :) Quote
