Timothy Miller
I am doing a big lot of repousse work right now. I needed more than one stake to complete the leaf and got tired of switching stakes over and over again. So I created this set up. I have a forward facing offset veining stake a backward facing offset veining stake and a 3/4" ball stake clamped up in these vises. It allows me to complete the leaf without switching tools. CurlyGeorge
Smart!! That was a good idea and makes a lot of sense. I've found myself in a similar situation, but didn't think of doing that. Thanks for the tip. :D
Timothy Miller
It also gives me an excuse to justify my having 4 leg vises.

SGropp
My feeling is that you shouldn't have to take more than 4-5 steps to get to an appropriate type vise anywhere in the shop, even less [ 1 or 2 steps ] in the hot work area.
