FieryFurnace
Same old story: Old ones are failing, demo coming up, need a new pair. The first try failed. I made a functional pair, but they were large and clumsy. Turns out they work great for 1/2 square and round but don't fit the bill for the smaller 3/8" work I needed them for. They are bolt tong type. So I used the first pair of tongs I made to hold some half inch square so I could make a smaller pair for holding 3/8." This is the result of my endevours! lordcaradoc
That looks really nice Dave. Both your sets look loads better than my first pair, but we are always learning. Regards, Tim
Toreus
Nice tongs! What are the diagonal grooves nearer the pivot for? Reminds me of deer tracks
jw223
Look Good to me too! I think I'm going to try bolt tongs myself.
FieryFurnace
The diagonal grooves are to allow holding pieces with a bend in them. The more I think about it though, I think I should have actually done them perpendicular or angled back instead of forward. However, the grooves work. Administration: I think I posted in the wrong area as it looks like this one got moved! My appologies!
