John, yeah I imagine that's why it didn't work all the time, I've never heard a Nazel hit the top. No, I take that back, sometimes if the cushion plug has come out it will start beating up the plug that's floating around in there.

I can't help with the Massey cylinder head, sorry.

When the cylinder head cracked on my Alldays 3cwt I managed to machine up a replacement from a disc of 75mm mild steel plate. That has been working fine for  twenty years…Do you know anybody with a big enough lathe?
