Hillbillysmith
So, today in class, I got bored and decided to weld two soda pop cans together. I did it successfully and surprisingly easily. But it got me thinking about it and here is my question; does anybody know the trick to tig weld aluminum foil together by any chance?? I know it can be done, I just dont know what the little secret is. The only thing that I can seem to think that would work is to use a larger tugsten with an extremly sharp point and run it on DCEP on low amperages with a very thin filler wire. Am I close?? Dragons lair
Question would be how low will your tigger go? We used to do that at .5 amps with a foot pedal DC streight. Here is a better one to try. butt weld .0005 wire. Or weld inside .010 OD tubing(thermocouples) Need young eyes and a 40-80X microscope. BIGGUNDOCTOR
That is why they invented laser, and electron beam welders :D
