Try tandy leather, or that fails crazy crow but they are overpriced imo.

From time to time I've gotten northern water snakes in my minnow traps while catching creek chubs for pike bait, fairly regularly actually. The have beautiful skins and would offer you an alternative to the all too common rattlesnake skins. A word to the wise though, don't mess with any that aren't drowned yet because they have a quite nasty disposition and like to bite. I've shot some up to 4 ft long in the brook behind my house with a .22 but the biggest I've found in my traps are 30" or so, the bigger ones can't get into the small opening of the traps.
