smith brother
Hello, I DON'T have any Black Smith experience, but am a hands on guy that has made a lot of stuff. I do wood, metal, jewelry, and home accents. I have a good wood, and metal shop, just don't have a forge. Need to either buy or make one. I won't be, at least to start taking on any BIG projects, so something small will get me going. I have built several street rods, and couple custom cars. I work by myself in a 3 car garage/shop, heated and air with 220. The first thing I need to make are some exaggerated iron blackened, very thin spikes. I made a 14" stainless steel cross out of 3/4" square tubing. It is scale to the one on our church. I want to hammer out three very thin 8-10" spikes that will lay on the vertical piece of the cross and held there by copper rope twisted around same. I made the copper rope. Looking forward to looking around the site tonight, and getting a feel for such. Thanks for hearing me out. Dale
David Einhorn
Sounds interesting. Have you considered driving the nails into the cross to hold them in place?
