Lol thats a good idea, but i havent even made 1 project that involves pattern welding. so that wont be such good of an option right now but certainly for the future!:D

Joe go through all of the basic bps...a letter openr with a hook on the end, a leaf or what ever you want to do will look great and be yur design. It will also give yuo a good forgeing exercise for learning.....

one that I have made for friends take 1/4" rod about 16" fold it in half and forge weld the open end together about half way up shape into a blade. twist the un welded end as a handle. simple but works

made for my father when I was just starting out. from 1/2" round. went a lil nutso with the brass brush. i was mighty proud of it at the time. my my, the time does fly.

I've done several with wizard heads and folks really like them.

Two pretty neat ones can be made from one horse shoe. They may even have enough carbon to make a pretty decent camp knife.
