October 1, 200916 yr Just finished this last night. Posting pics because a friend wanted to see it. All in all I'm happy with it, but I hate that I couldn't get the curls symmetrical. I always seem to get one side of a project right and then just can't quite get the other as nice. Oh, well, I'm learning. Kendrick
October 1, 200916 yr Great job!! Getting two objects the same or mirror image is probably one of the hardest tasks we face IMO. That is why my tongs always have LOTS of character Keep hammering on.........
October 1, 200916 yr i agree, nice. does the job, looks good, symetrical enough for me, id buy one. :)
October 1, 200916 yr Something I recently learned: It does not have to BE symmetrical, it just has to provide the illusion of symmetry.
October 1, 200916 yr On stuff that looks "organic", like this does, I often prefer to avoid symmetry. I find it more interesting.
October 1, 200916 yr Nice work, Kendrick. I've never made anything that I was satisfied with. While others might ooh and ah, over an item, the flaws in it would jump right out at me. I'm sure the recipient will be quite happy with your creation. I would be.
October 1, 200916 yr I have a jig that makes the curls...and hooks symmetrical everytime. There are about 100 variations with several interchangable pins. PM me if you are interested in more info on it. I do like the style. Something I have not seen before and will put in my memory banks for later use! Nicely done! Peyton
October 1, 200916 yr Looks great!!! Most of us are hard on the things we make. Most people are very please with the pieces that we seems to think are not good enough. I like the design you have made keep up the work Gaylan
October 2, 200916 yr Nice, Jeremy. I like that. I'll have to try to make one of those. My wife saw it!!> LOL. So now I have to make one. :D
